—SUMMER 2020—
Most of us in Houston kept close tabs on the George Floyd story, especially those from the 3rd Ward, Floyd’s former home. During this tense period many mural projects, most focusing on GF and civil rights, began to crop up around the inner city.
‘TIL THE END is one such mural. Painted on an old washeteria in Third Ward, the work features colors that the artist associates with black and brown people and their (his) culture. It’s repeating pattern is reminiscent of African textile and print.
It reads simply “III Ward native, ‘Til The End”
